sierra's luau themed party

I've been so busy with work,school and Sierra's up and coming birthday party that i haven't blogged for more than 3 weeks. her party will be this coming Saturday which is really exciting because she's having a luau themed party. i already bought a few decorations from party city, I've mailed all her invites and i even bought her give aways. i ordered her cake from costco and i got a box of leis for the guests. I'm really excited because this will be a great way to introduce her to all of our relatives and friends who are coming from different states just to be with her on her special day.

mom's b-day

i have been so busy with work now because i am working full time and also studying. days go by so quickly that i have forgotten to blog for 2 weeks. till now i haven't started preparing for Sierra's b-day and i don't now where to start. anyway it was my mom's b-day the other day and we had dinner at Free Mason Abbey. they had the yummiest lobster, Sierra ate the salad,cantalope, dinner rolls and mashed potatoes. anyway, im also searching for great deals for Maclaren strollers, my sister and i decided to buy my bestfriend a maclaren stroller here as a gift and have it shipped to the Philippines, good thing my cousin is willing to bring the stroller when she spends her vacay in the Phils next month. my bestfriend is 4 months pregnant and is so excited bec it'll be their first child. i hope i can be there when she gives birth bec she was always with me in the hospital when i gave birth.

Sierra's polliwalks

we went to the mall yesterday and i was able to get Sierra a new pair of shoes. all of her shoes are in the shade of pink so i decided to buy her another pair at stride rite. as soon as she saw the polliwalks t-rex she didn't want to try anything else. here are some shots of her posing with her shoes.







anyway, a few more weeks and it'll be Sierra's birthday , I'm still trying to decide whether to have her party in the zoo since she loves going there or at young chefs academy. I'll try to check the two venues on Monday since that's my only day off. I'd really like to finish the party preps before mid June.

mother's day

We went to kmart tonight to do some grocery shopping with my sister and i ended up buying tons of junkfood. Sierra kept on grabbing chips and chocolates and kept asking me to open the candies. i actually love going to kmart because its near our house and because there are tons of stuff to buy.

anyway, for mother's day instead of celebrating it last sunday we decided to do it last Monday because that was every body's day off. we had a lunch date with my sister which was her treat at Surf rider and then my brother treated everybody for dinner at Yukai which is a Japanese buffet resto. i ended up giving mom a digital frame since that was the only thing left that she didn't have and i got myself a Balenciaga bag hahahahha I've always wanted to buy one when i was still in PI but because it was so expensive over there i decided to wait when i got to the US. anyway i still need to finish doing my homework and since Sierra is already asleep, this is the only chance for me to study my pharmacy technician book and medical terminology textbook . 4 more months and i'll be done.

updates

i have been so busy with work and school that i can't even find the time to blog. anyway, i am finally driving but only when i go to work and when i get off from work with my bro in law and sister in the car. we also don't like going out that much right now because of the swine flu, we just found out that there were already a few cases in our area. an upscale preschool near my mom's business even closed down because a toddler had swine flu. I haven't brought Sierra to any play gyms, parks and malls just to be safe, so instead i buy stuff online. my recent purchases is a head support pillow for Sierra's car seat which im really excited to get. i'll post the picture when i get it.

flu kit

my cousin is going to the Philippines for a vacation with her brothers this June and they are really excited to see their mom. they haven't seen their mother for 8 years already and they already bought their tickets, their only problem is they are scared with the swine flu. they been kidding around about getting swine flu kits to help protect them in the plane and airports. they didn't want to cancel their trips because this is the only free time they have to have a month long vacation. to make matters worst there are talks that they are only allowed to bring 1 luggage and 1 hand carry any thing else would have an extra fee which is really dissappointing because they already bought tons of gifts for their relatives. now they are deciding to mail their balikbayan boxes before they leave.

tax

While I was at work yesterday one of my co-workers were talking about how she needs to get another part time job because of all the credit card bills that her daughter has. Her daughter was laid off from her production job and has only found a part time job that’s only enough to pay her car payments and medical bills. Her mom really wants to help her by paying off some off her credit card bills because the interest rate is about 15% which is really making it harder for her to even pay the minimum. The daughter even has problems with her taxes because she doesn’t really pay attention which is why they might need help from Tax Relief. I was quite curious so I too also went to the site to check it out; turns out they help you by negotiating with the IRS on what you can afford to pay. I’m so glad I don’t have any problems like this right now; this would be a stressful thing to think of especially when it is really hard to find good paying jobs right now. There are tons of people here in the States that have been laid off, got reduced salaries, shortened work days, and even benefits have been slashed almost in half by companies. I just hope everything gets better by the end of the year.
